Positively Tuesday April 14, 2026
As I've never been a fan of Tuesday's, I've been using them to try and recap anything positive, joyful, or smile worthy to try and lighten up my Tuesday moods.
- Little Mister is doing fantastic and has just blended in with the family so well. His attitude that keeps bringing him to lounge on the dining room table needs to adjust though...yuck.

- I enjoyed my half day subbing last Friday. Full days will be tough with pup, but the afternoon worked great and gave me a bit of cushion for ever increasing bills.
- Crazy variations of weather continue with Sunday starting with a thunderstorm and transitioning to near 80°. It was nice being outside getting a few jobs done in short sleeves. The mud though...then, we had weather watches yesterday afternoon, but we just ended up with rain and not much that I saw. Things are finally greening up and seeing buds developing on trees. Finally!
- Happy 15th Birthday to pup yesterday. He's cranky and slow, a major financial obligation, but he's my boy.
I've started a few deep dive tasks today and setting myself some calendar targets. Tomorrow I'm back to my osteo doctor and hoping for some relief so I can fully resume the PT exercises and be back walking miles. I really need more exercise in my day along with improved eating to get weight management back on track. Hopefully next week I share positive results.

Fingers crossed that the osteo appt goes well and you can get back into the walking. These kitties and pup are so adorable. Black cats are apparently the least adopted, because of all the superstitions that surround them but your new grandcat is adorable.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping I'm eligible for a cortisone shot for pain, then can kick the exercising in high gear for permanent improvement. Our guy is so loveable and can't imagine anyone not falling in love with him.
DeleteSweet fur babies!!!! I currently have 4 black cats outdoors.
ReplyDeleteWe were actually looking by age to adopt , not too young, but young enough to adapt to older cat. I love his beautiful black coat.
DeleteI'm back to logging all of my foods and staring down the sugar addiction. In addition, I am walking daily. Move more, eat less - sounds simple, right? Its anything but!
ReplyDeleteRight because of course we know what adds weight and what will take it off. I'm a bored eater and a stress eater. Treats do me in as well. You're better than me at logging.
DeleteSuch gorgeous fur babies you have. I need to make myself take more steps so as to be ready for our trip in August..... I don't want to, but I will.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I blew it for Greece by not being in better walking shape with the rough January and February. I did great in November, little pain until a few days in London. I highly recommend you prepare as much as possible. Lesson learned to myself. I don't want my next trip to be me stuck in the hotel not doing any sites because I hurt, or do what I did...cause probable injury.
DeleteSounds like lots of positive things!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to think about making each day as good as possible. So many things are out if my hands but I can look for bright spots.
DeleteI've got around the foodie stuff by having an allowance; 2 biscuits, 2 small chocolates, 1 tiny bowl of nuts, 1 tiny bowl of crisps per day. When they're gone, they're gone!
ReplyDeletePart time working is great; time to do what you need/want to do as well. We had to feed out cats just small amounts of food four times a day when they were really old (18, 19 maybe?) so being out for a whole day was tricky.
Pups Meds are 12 hours apart, but his bathroom needs are the issue ( and the fact no one else does needles). I do better when I just ignore treats all together. If I tried allocating, if I was in a snacky mood, I'd find the rest! I l8ke the 1/2 day but needs to be afternoons. I'll reevaluate for fall. I don't really need the money, it's just a nice little cushion.
DeleteOh, look at Little Mister! I love that he and your girl seem to be getting along together. I'm afraid that William also lies on the dining table, we've bothe grown up as cat slaves so its always been normal for us. Your old fella looks brilliant for 15, you're obviously a brilliant pet owner.
ReplyDeleteI hope you got on okay with the osteo doctor and you can start getting back on track with the excercise, pain relief and weight management. I got my appointment through from the hospital for my pelvic X-Rays today, they're in a months time which is better than I thought. xxx
Isn't he sweet, but not a fan of his table jumping. We just got lucky with pup. Our Golden Retriever was 14 so I guess we got lucky twice with dogs. The cats might be immortal! Im all injected with steroids so will see if there's relief. The hip xrays show more degenerated cartridge and bone spurs on the right- left which hasn't been hurting was perfect though. Fingers crossed it'll be a long time before I need surgery. Good luck to you!
DeleteI'm reading this a day late (and a dollar short??) so hope your osteo appt. went well indeed. I hear you on eating "inappropriately"--I need to focus on other ways to deal with stress than eat, especially things that I don't need to be eating!
ReplyDeleteMy hip is repeat of knee ( but that was 10 years in the making for surgery) and I'm hopeful that a steroid injection done today will give me relief so I can successfully do PT and get stronger. May need a hip replacement some time in the future but not jumping there yet.
DeleteI got a handle on my weight by using a free app called Cronometer. I was sick and tired of being morbidly obese. I know better but I fed my feelings and boredom and bad habits. After knee replacement #2, I decided enough was enough. I decided that over the course of week, I had to break even on calories in/out. Slowly and steadily over 4.5 years, I have released 75 pounds into the universe for others to grab (my Holistic counselor told me not to "lose" because "lost needs to be found".) I will eat a burger, onion rings, french fries when I really think I must have them, but the accountability serves me well in that I get right back to healthier habits now instead of saying to myself "you blew it so why bother, may as well eat everything in my sight".
ReplyDeleteStress coping is HARD and so very personal. And your arthritis makes movement/not sitting a huge challenge for overcoming boredom. Hopefully this can be healed enough by the injection I see you got (in a comment) that you are able to do some gentle walking soon.
Oh my gosh, less than 24 hours after the injection, I feel great, well, very good. I walked down the steps and right back up because I forgot something with barely a twinge of discomfort. Yes, now that I got my movement back, time to focus on calories and healthy eating. I lost the vacation weight, but now, 50 pounds just for quality of life needs to go. I have big plans for day trips, hikes, yard work, and other simple but physical activities.
