Finally, Minnesota Winter Snow
It was just too pretty outside not to grab a few snapshots. Snow has been absent for most of this Minnesota winter. Events cancelled; snow dependant businesses struggling. I've been happy not to shovel: in fact, my daughter did for me today, but this lack of snow was concerning.
The dogs love it. I'll be looking forward to seeing the neighborhood kids playing after school, digging forts, making snowmen, and trouncing paths. They better hurry. It's predicted to be in the 50's again by Saturday.
It's so pretty!! We've had little more than a dusting a few times here this winter.
ReplyDeleteThis started wet, snizzle the radio guy was saying, but by 6:00 was showing on ground.
DeleteThat is gorgeous. We have had no snow, but that is our normal.
ReplyDeleteIt was getting almost creepy, the lack of snow. People were all "isn't is so nice", but all I think is how abnormal it is.
DeleteIt is abnormal and will cause issues with deep wells for those of us that live in the country...
DeleteOkay, ALL I can think of is your last post and how I should not, Not, NOT comment what I am itching to comment about this post, even though I am fairly certain it would get a bit of a chuckle from you...
ReplyDeleteDARN IT ALL.....
Must. Resist.
All my love. Thank you for the pretty pictures. Last might, I was awakened at 2 a.m. due to a teriyaki bento box takeout meal (when will I ever learn?) interrupting my sleep. It was goid, but I always feel crummy afterwards. In any case, I peeked outside the window to see that snow was falling heavily here. It didn't snow much, and it's since turned to rain, but it sure made the early morning light pretty.
Now, curious minds need to know!!!
DeleteOkay, here's the comment, but ONLY because you asked. "'but this lack of snow was concerning.' Climate change? Nah. Nothin' to see here folks. Move along!"
DeleteAnd yes, the lack of snow IS concerning. Our aquifer for this area is at a terrifying low.
DeleteIt's going to be a hard growing season, and yes, that means food costs will go up. Water will need to be rationed even earlier.
DeleteYAY! for snow. We have precious little in central Idaho as well. Yard might have 20% of what we had in 2021 :-( And we are a water driven state with farming and hydroelectric. Could be a bumpy ride this summer!
ReplyDeleteWondering where my snow is...
ReplyDeleteI must say I miss the quietness during a snowfall. Don't miss the digging out though. lol
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty. We have some coming in tomorrow. It is always pretty - I just don't like it.
ReplyDeleteWe finally got a good storm this week - a foot or more. Today was a picture perfect day - cold but bright sunshine and blue skies! My sisters doggies (two Goldens) love to play in the snow, too.
ReplyDeleteOh that's beautiful - and all that with the added benefit of not having to dig yourself out!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, we need a lot more of this to help our drought situation. It was pretty to see, even when it was falling. My cats forgot what snow was and were trying to catch the big fat fluffy flakes, through the windows. As much as I usually do not like March and especially April snowfalls, I'd be okay with it this year. Either that, or early Spring with suitable rain showers. I'm glad to see you back blogging again. It's clear you were missed. Ranee (MN)
