Friday Fiscal Wellness Check, October 2, 2026
- Brought full order of hash browns that came with my dinner Saturdsy night home.
- Brought my youngest a few freezer ready meals from my stash. She's been very busy with all her jobs this week.
- Minimal spending on H and G items this week-wet dog food, treats for dogs, quick oats, sugar, a couple things for a salad potluck, and diet Dr Pepper. I've been on a use freezer finds mode this week.
- Paid/ earmarked autopay bills yesterday since the 1st to ensure no late fees and am fully aware of my funds.
Opportunities to add Funds/Windfalls
- Entered receipts in Fetch.
Non-Thrifty or Frugal
- Fortunately nothing big, but will be coming.
Then, there are often other things that impacted my check book that came up without much planning or notice, an extra optional or necessary expense, or an all-out splurge.
- Nothing I'd consider a splurge.
Fri - Sausage, vegetable soup, guacamole tortilla chips
Sat- Out for dinner, Chicken Kiev, salad, wild rice
Sun- Egg burrito made with leftover hash browns and last bit of cheddar.
Mon- Salad supper buffet before AAUW business meeting and speaker.
Tues- Met mom friends at Perkins to plan the weekend away details. I had the burger, fries, and pie meal, taking pie home.
Weds- Frozen, but homemade, burrito
Thur- I made a frozen pizza very late for lunch and had a slice too many. No dinner needed but drank lots of water all evening to counter sodium content!
- Nothing because I was using up freezer meals and leftovers

Cheers to a good week and your October ahead. 🎊
ReplyDeleteThanks...the weekend was already busy.
DeleteI was on a used freezer finds meal plan this week too and it really helped clean up my freezer, which I love. You already know we've been car shopping, so I've been hit or miss on posting on others blogs too. Hopefully we will get this all settled soon. I have you have a good weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck on car shopping.
DeleteHope you have a great week ahead and everything goes smoothly. xxx
ReplyDeleteI don't forsee problems just tasks one after each other.
DeleteSounds like a really good week, and well done on using things up. We are in that mode as well. I need to be prepping meals, because we've had a lot of events out of the house lately. Hope your week goes well, and you get a bit of respite in the upcoming days. - Hawaii Planner
ReplyDeleteMy kichen freezer is the worst and I need to clear to the bottom. The weekend started my busy few weeks.
DeleteHave a wonderful couple of weeks, and thanks for the heads up! I would have worried about you! Not Bossy
ReplyDeleteI know a couple folks notice when bloggers go quiet. I do too.
DeleteHugs, my friend. Trust me, I think we all have been there, done that when it comes to overload on too many fronts. Take care of what you need to take care of, including YOURSELF', and know we are all there for you.
ReplyDeleteHopefully not overload, just lots timed in a crin h period. November is looking quiet.
DeleteSounds like a good week. Have a great fall and being with friends and family the next few weeks.
ReplyDeleteI really am happy for the time with friends.
DeleteThat sounds like a pretty nice week and low spend as well. I hope the rest of October is good for you as well.
ReplyDeleteEveryday spending will be low. Sinking costs, huge.
DeleteI totally understand very busy weeks! After my stove’s electrical complements went kaput, I have been cooking in my crockpot. I am trying to pay taxes this coming month and not incur any more debt so it looks like crockpot soups are what is on the menu! I can tell I am also needing a new fridge soon so I will be shopping for a matching set in January. Cindy in the South
ReplyDeleteAlso “soup” noy “soups” ….. sigh
DeleteMade a really good butternut squash soup yesterday. Im sharing g with several people and making another batch for the weekend.
Delete“Components” not “complements”….. lol.
ReplyDeleteHope the busy times go well!
ReplyDeleteYou did really well with the finances this week.
Im watching everyday spending. I have too many big expenses coming. Like Cindy, soup is on the menu but I am happy for that.
DeleteI enjoy reading your endeavors; they often inspire me to be more mindful of what I have. For instance rather than throwing out some old chili I converted it to burrito filling and ate it with relish.
ReplyDeleteChili, rice. And cheese is one of my favorite burrito fillings. What's not to love!
DeleteI hope you have a good week ahead - and I hope you can rest as you'll be busy these next few weeks!
ReplyDeleteI no longer have full time employed brain, so a busy week really stretches my reserves. It's been mostly good.
DeleteTurning the leftover hash browns into an egg burrito is the kind of thing I'd never think of, but it makes total sense. And taking the pie home from Perkins is the right call. Hope the busy weeks are going smoothly so far, and have fun with your friends.
ReplyDeleteYes, carb inside carb but dang delicious. Most restaurant meals are just too much food. I hate the waste.
