June Wrap Up and July Plans

I don't think I made good use of June. To be fair, three of my plans were weather dependent and as fate had it, canceled due to pouring rain and some thunderstorms. This doesn't  include the everyday life things like pet care, garden and yard, cleaning, grocery and meals, and life admin. I'll seperate into three chunks to wrap up.

June 1-10

  • Happy Hour with a friend I don't see often
  • Helped son get u-haul van loaded  at my friends moms ( and a nice catchup with friend and mom after)
  • Zoom workshop by my daughter

June 11-20

  • Family book club
  • Mom's book club
  • Started PT (3 more sessions scheduled including this morning, just got a call and it'sbeen cancelled, so now probably just 2 more wirh an email consultation)
  • Happy hour with old work colleagues
  • Helped son with a few organization things then treated to tacos
  • Day trip to cabin with pup

June 21-30 ( I was really hard pressed to come up with anything to share to end the month as between heat and rain, I was very homebound.)

  • Watched a lot of World Cup games

Now onto July. We just had the 4th and on my end was mostly a mellow day. I went to my sisters for a bit with pup. I had grandpup yesterday and got to the river for a good walk and want to do more walks in more picturesque spots than my neighborhood. I've got a concert and overnight hotel stay coming up soon. I plan on a couple day trips to the lake with pup. I might change up the ride home with him and bring his bed, and settle him in the way back. He was too restless the last trip coming home and fell off the seat.

I plan on a couple evenings at the river for live music with a friend, maybe also a night of trivia. I've a meeting scheduled for financial planning. I'm hosting family book club towards the end of the month. Our towns annual "fun days"  are mid month though I'm a bit of a grinch and don't participate in much as it's crowded, often the hottest days of summer, and loud. I like the craft fair and the performance by the marching band so will work those into the Sunday of that weekend once the drinking portion seens to wind down. The farmers market will start having more and regular produce so I'll make sure to stop on Tuesdays, but would like to do the large St Paul market too. I'll probably be spending time over the next few weeks and month helping my daughter clean, purge, and pack her apartment as she and her roomate are moving the end of August. Then there's my house project list, that may or may not happen.

  • Deep clean downstairs bedroom and bathroom, reset as guest room. I need new bedding for that room and will probably just go with a white fitted sheet and duvet with a throw blanket draped at end. (Inspiration from Meg B and friend G's Florida condo)
  • Paint trim around the garage door
  • Get estimates to fix or replace garage door opener
  • Fix mishap on the wall on the stairs going upstairs. There's a lot of sheet rock/ mudding cracking. I might need to hire this out.

  • Paint entry, entry wall, dining room wall, upstairs hallway, and accent wall after the fix. (To be honest, this is probably not going to happen but calling it out just in case some great burst of energy happens)
  • If above done, rehang/ hang family photos and portraits
  • Deep clean and touch up porch railing
  • Repaint shelf that sits on my porch, used in the past in a bathroom.
  • Steam clean the living room carpet and furniture.
  • Clean out my closet and put drawer and shelving unit inside and better organize. These were bought last spring originally intended for my daughters apartment.

Overall, I  need to use my July days much more intentionally than I used June. Watching less TV, going on more walks, reading more books, and just enjoying my own outdoor space as much as possible is my aim.

  1. I'm exhausted from all you list for July do's! My sole goal is to declutter and tidy up the basement...ok, so that's the goal for the next six months! It does sound like you had a relaxing June, so that counts as good I hope.
