Sunday Thoughts Posted Monday Morning

Picture just for cuteness.

I had a nice weekend, just a little bit of a few things. My niece held a terrific party for her daughters graduation. Nice food and drink, good company, and even with the haze due to Canadian fires, perfect weather. I was a bit lazy housework wise on Saturday so  today tried to get things done (Sunday.) I'm still trying to get to the raspberries, but even 9:30 a.m. is too late as the buzzing is annoying, so I will go back to after 8:00 p.m. even though I picked nearly four cups this morning, the sun and warmth ripened more during the day. There's still more and more to ripen! I thought I was getting a walk in before it got hot, but the last mile I was dripping. I avoided getting the men's Wimbledon final as I wanted to watch the  free replay on ABC later as I don't get ESPN+ to watch live, but lost track of time and missed a good match. I followed the women's a bit by phone on Saturday, but did not watch the 6-0, 6-0 match. Yikes

Other than getting some basic housework done, I  just puttered around doing stuff inside and out. I did some trip research for both now booked trips. My kids were very pleased I'm doing both and have sent texts or dropped ideas my way.

The Christian Ed Director really struggled with volunteers for Vacation Bible school, so I signed up to be snack station leader this week. I figured that's the session even the bouncier kids will be well mannered at as kids' love their snacks, right?  I need to be at church at 8:30, though I'll just have the three groups circulate starting about 9:30 to my station. It wraps up at 11:30. There's a short little lesson, bible verse, and prayer that goes with each day's snack. My printer is out of ink so I'm just going to bring my laptop to use as reference. It's just Monday-Wednesday, so not a big commitment. I really like the director and happy to help her out.

Thanks for the nice comments on the post about travel. It turns out my UK travel host and companion Siobhan is in sync with my wanderlust and she's meeting me in Athens. That's about it for the weekend.

  1. How fun that Siobhan will be joining you! I just had a conversation with my beloved birthday girl coworker that we celebrated yesterday…she’s a widow who works three jobs to stay busy and has a plan to retire from 2/3 jobs, get an RV and dog and start traveling the US within two years. I hope she does :) I’m jealous of your raspberry bushes. We had lots of grapes and berries growing up but not enough land here for those things. JoAnn
