Trying for a accountability, I'm checking in on my lack of progress. Still, awareness is a start.

  • Lose five pounds. Still just that same one pound since the beginning of May.
  • Walk 10 miles per week.  I'm back on track with my walking.
  • Strength and weight resistance exercise two hours per week. Using my exercise bands and some hand weights, it's something but not rigorous. That's why I my putting as yellow.
  • Ensure I have at least six fruit and veg servings per day with at least three being vegetables. No issues here as grabbing carrots, celery, cucumbers or a piece of fruit are my go to snacks plus I eat portions if veg at supper that are two servings.
Not a bad week but the pounds aren't shifting yet. That's likely due still to too many calories so will focus there for June along with both cardio and strength exercises.

* I've been using the old template and updating. I know there's two posts today but wanted to keep on with the Wednesday Wellness.

  1. Looking good. I have been weak to sugar this week, smh! But I will get in some exercise and continue to bring my lunch to work every day :) if you can even be food conscious on your trip, take in less sugar/sodium but still work out - that would be good (I tried but failed on my vacation so I don't even really mean it... LOL)

    1. There's an exercise room and a pool, so minimally can keep on with a bit of strength exercises, maybe the treadmill or bikes, and will swim daily. The food will be tough...but I'll try and watch sugar, alcohol, and simple carbs and focus on the meat.

  2. Well done getting back on track with the walking and with the snacks! I'm terrible eating the right kind of snacks especially when sometimes healthy food is more expensive than the junk food!

    1. The good stuff is go to, but I also indulge too much some days on fat and sugary stuff too.

  3. I keep eating too much junk and too little healthy foods. I don't know what is wrong with my head! I am still stuck at 49 pound loss no matter what I do. I really only do the stepping. Yep, we are baking brownies right now. But, I do eat lots of vegetables and fruits, and meat. Maybe we will both make progress somehow. Practical Parsimony

    1. Short of calorie deficiency, if you can't move a lot, your body just won't need that many calories. I find every year I age, it takes less calories and more burning of them to show any progress

  4. Good job keeping up with your walking. Progress not perfection is the name of the game says my new magnet. 😊

    1. Still too many non nutritious foods, but as you said, progress might be better than being perfect.

  5. It's great that you are building a new retirement routine, and focusing on fitness. Working out isn't my challenge at all, it's that my calorie needs are super low, and I find it hard to consistently stick with it. I remind myself that the alternative is to gain weight, so even when frustrating, maintaining over a period of time is okay, as long as you are then learning & adapting from what's working/not working. - Hawaii Planner

  6. Well done on the walking! Its so important to keep fit the older we get. I exercise every day and have learnt to love doing it, it comes as naturally as brushing my teeth. xxx

    1. I feel out of sorts without a good walk, even on days without the big dog.
