Tryin for a accountability, I'm checking in on my lack of progress. Still, awareness is a start.

  • Lose five pounds. One pound since the beginning of May.
  • Walk 10 miles per week.   Being under the weather over the weekend cut into my walking but Monday  had a lot of steps
  • Strength and weight resistance exercise two hours per week. I'll keep this at yellow. I'm doing something, plus a lot of lifting and moving things out side.
  • Ensure I have at least six fruit and veg servings per day with at least three being vegetables. This was just yellow attempted but not fully successful the past few weeks.

* I've been using the old template and updating.

    1. That is true. With how May went, I'm good with any progress.

  2. Any progress is a good thing - it all counts!

  3. I find that having a huge serving of one vegetable works better for me than trying to get multi servings a day. I am not a great fruit eater and rarely have them

    1. Oh, I count a large portion as more than one (a salad might be 3-4 servings depending on what all I put in it and how big), so I think we are aligned there. I love fruit so no problem there.

  4. Baby steps! You're making progress, things can only get better! x

    1. They could...but I just can't let that happen. I caught time between rain showers for the mini walk with both dogs and a nice long one with grand pup.

  5. I can't read what's under the red but good for you for sticking with your goals.

    1. Walking 10 miles a week was a no go. I was not well over the weekend.

    2. Had the same problem reading. I found if you use your cursor and highlight over the red area, you can read it.

Sam, I was away preparing for vacation, going on vacation and then recovering form vacation, so I missed your brother's passing, so sending my condolences now. I also wanted to thank you for posting about the salsa at the DT. I was able to pick up some myself!

    3. I'll have to use a pink shade for red. It sold out fast in our DT.

  6. Bit by bit, Sam, bit by bit. I agree: awareness is a start.

    1. I know why there was little progress instead of pretending I have no clue.

  7. Well done with the progress! I admire you keeping track of this. I do walk, but mostly I wander around looking at things and rarely keep track of how many steps I actually do!

    1. I look at route length to determine how long. I have a few regular routes that are 1 or 1.5 miles.

  8. It sounds like you're well on track. Your list has been really helpful as it has reminded me to look into strength and resistance exercises. Going to the gym isn't really my thing, but our NHS have a load of suggestions that I'm going to try. Arilx

  9. OKay... you have made me tired.I can say the only thing is I am eating 5 a day of fruit/vegs. Grains are still at 1 which is the pie, cookies, sweet rolls the Amish send regularly...made with whole wheat or spelts flour.

  10. Hi, interested to know what the US guidelines atr on fruit and vegetable servings are. In Australia it’s 5 vegetables and 2 fruit. Thanks Lisa

    1. I think their still saying 5 a day minimum but don't recall if fruits and veg are separate.

  11. I tilted my screen back a bit until the letters were black. I still use my Legxercise for movement and do at least 10,000 steps a day and sometimes more. The torn rotator cuff limits much lifting.

  12. I try and tell myself that even a little bit of exercise is better than no exercise. I try and get an hour on my bike pedals every day, but don’t beat myself up if I don’t find the time. My last day of physical therapy is today, so while I could count on it on days when I couldn’t fit in exercise, I won’t be able to after this week. Keep up the good work!
