Back from Greece...Too Much to Share
It was a rough trip back yesterday with two stops, a frantic run to catch the second leg in Vienna, and delays in Canada. I'll need the next few days to catch up sleep, laundry, and pound massive amounts of something to squash my angry hip but will do a better recap soon. Here's a few snippets. The view of the Acroplis never gets old.

| This was legendary Socrates Prison. During WWII, the Greeks hid antiquities from the Nazis then sealed the caves. We found a few sites that served that purpose. |

Yay! I adore Athens and absolutely loved seeing it through your eyes. It looks like you were blessed with the weather like we were. I hope you loved the Greeks and their hospitality as much as we do and am delighted that you've already mentioned another holiday!
ReplyDeleteThat cave is said to have been where Socrates was imprisoned before he poisoned himself with hemlock. xxx
I thought that too about the cave, but then we came across the one labeled as Socrates Prison. I'll add that above.
DeleteWelcome home!!! (I caught up on your blog while you were gone; overloaded here and lost track of friends important to me!) I LOVED your photo tour. I was in Greece DECADES ago (1979, just to give you an idea) and these photos brought back memories.
ReplyDeleteNow I need to do some catch up. I hope to return to Greece with my children.
DeleteWelcome back!! Love the pictures! Looks like an amazing trip. Get some rest and I hope your hip feels better.
ReplyDeleteI've has been my friend; that and ibuprofen. The Aleve did nothing so should have trusted the tried and true.
DeleteWelcome home. Cool pictures.
ReplyDeleteThank you. We had perfect weather.
DeleteSo glad you had a splendid time, as my momma used to say!!! Looks beautiful!!!! Cindy in the South
ReplyDeleteOverall, great trip. Nothing is without some challenge but some grateful for the opportunity to go there.
DeleteLooks so fabulous! Really happy you had the opportunity to enjoy. Hope the re-entry to real life is as easy as possible. - Hawaii Planner
ReplyDeleteMajor snow storm came in overnight with white pit conditions today. Quite the change from last Sunday. Motivated to get stronger , hip especially before any more travel.
DeleteIt looks wonderful! Sorry the trip home was hard, but you made it back safely, and had a great visit there.
ReplyDeleteIt was rough and I'm someone who normally likes flying. Worth it in the end but hope my hip stops being mad.
DeleteAlso hope the heavy snowfall this weekend doesn't cause any major problems for you! Welcome home!
ReplyDeleteJust tackling shoveling at some point. Not worth battling the blowing so holding off until later.
DeleteOh, what great pictures! Sounds like you had a good time. I'm glad you made it home safe and sound too even with the rough trip home. I love the picture of the turtles.
ReplyDeleteThey were so sweet in their enclave. Later I'll have tortoise pictures too.
DeleteYAY!!!! For a fabulous vacation. Rest well.
ReplyDeleteI need the rest but finally got a load in the washer.
DeleteThank you for sharing the incredible photos.
ReplyDeleteI could never get to go places like this in my life.
Chronic health problems and finances would prohibit it.
So it was lovely of you to
Share.
I'm sorry to read that. My health has been up and down so thought I better do what I can while I can.
DeleteSam, glad you are home and had a good time! You were missed! Not Bossy
ReplyDeleteI need to get caught up on all the blog news.
DeleteSuch a gorgeous place! Maybe worth a few hip pains? Hoping you get caught up on all the post trip chores soon so you can recover!
ReplyDeleteIm taking post trip chores slowly. Pup had a hard time with me gone so he's getting good attention. I'm icing that hip and taking ibuprofen so both are helping.
DeleteI am mad-jealous! I want to see these too someday.
ReplyDeleteI had insomnia back in July and booked on a whim. Might become best way I schedule things.
DeleteWow great pictures! Looks like a wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteAthens iscan incredible place to visit.
DeleteJust beautiful. I am so glad you enjoyed it. My mom has hip pain sometimes. If your budget allows, perhaps a good massage then some hip exercises?
ReplyDeleteI'm quite squeamish about the thought of a massage
DeleteJust not my thing but, do have a series of hip exercises that my PT have me when I was healing my knee, but hip got wonky. I have been putting them back to use and need to keep it up even when pain subsides to strengthen all the muscles.
Looks absolutely beautiful. Now it's back to snow lol. Glad you made it back safely despite the delays!
ReplyDeleteIt was a beautiful city. I'm really battling something in my hip...more than just overdoing it, so having a slow re-entry to regular life.
DeleteWhat a great trip! I’ve never been to Greece. It looks wonderful. Barbara M.
