Positively Tuesday Relaunch February 10, 2026

In my old blog, before my husband passed away, I dedicated Tuesday  to find something positive to post about. The reason why I did Tuesday and not Thankful Thursday as so many people do was because I dreaded Tuesday's. Monday always felt like a brand new week and I was ready to begin. But by midday Tuesday, I was dragging low. The work week was in full on problem mode it seemed. I'd be juggling work and life and Tuesdays seemed crowded in both. Being retired, I don't have that same angst about Tuesdays. I don't have a crowded calendar. If I don't get something done, no worries, it can be done the next day instead of pulling a late night to get it done.

But to break up the week a bit, I think it's still a nice day to highlight anything positive in my life or that I'm seeing for others. Admittedly, some weeks it feels like I had to dig deep to find something worthy to post. Most of life is just live, rinse, repeat and that's not necessarily a bad thing. I've had days of extreme happiness and joy and had the worst days people can imagine. On those latter days, I would have been happy for live, rinse, repeat. For my relaunch today, I'm doing bullet style as I explained ad nauseum already; here's my positively Tuesday moments.

  • I get to love on my sister's cats who while shy of me, do each run up against me briefly. Plus, this semi stray comes to greet me too, and I feed from the outdoor container my sister leaves for the wanderers
Not sure her name, but sister calls her Callie for calico, a real beauty.

  • My dentist could fit me in today and I am done for three months. ( The out of pocket is killing me though.)
  • I had all the ingredients on hand for more chicken noodle soup (scored on a $1.99 rotisserie chicken) which since my mouth is sore, will be a nice dinner.
  • I'm not a high risk but still always good to read after a mammogram " no radiographic evidence of malignancy" in my chart. The official letter came in my box too to confirm. I'm good for two more years.
  • Got a happy hour scheduled for right before I leave on vacation with three former work colleagues, two retired and one still working. These are terrific people to catch up with a few times a year.
I hope you find some positives today. For those that do Thankful Thursday, I look forward to reading from you.

  3. Great about the mammogram - I am high risk ( mother , two of her sisters all died from Breast Cancer ) but in the UK it can take three weeks to receive the results - in November 2024 I was recalled after a mammogram- fortunately nothing sinister , but terrifying none the less
I am finding it hard to find positive things - but less than 3 weeks till we arrive in Athens , and hopefully an escape from all the rain here

    1. That's what I'm hoping to do each week. I reached some conclusions about my life. Things aren't likely to go in directions I had always hoped and dreamed for. But, that's the case for most of us I guess, so trying to find bits of joy where possible.

  5. My positive thing is that I’m currently sitting on the balcony of our hotel room in Auckland, NZ! We’re boarding a cruise here on Friday. We are a LONG way from home and a bit jet lagged. Half a lifetime ago, my struggling and stressed single mom self would never have imagined doing something like this. Our hotel
is lovely and was booked for free using hotel points. Another positive thing-getting pictured from my DIL of my 4 year old grandson making Valentine’s cookies today.

    1. Those are really terrific positives! I'm on the opposite side of hope right now about life, but realize this is what I got so better get on with finding a bit of positive where I can.

  6. I hadn't come across thankful Thursday, or Tuesday before. Good to read of other people's happy moments, helps to remind me to reflect positively on my own day.

    1. I have a lot of blogs in my role that do the Thankful Thursday posts. I don't see other Tuesdays either. I'm in a blue mood right now...too much happening (and not happening in good effort) in life and I'll drown if I don't find a bit to appreciate.

  7. Positives today: I didn't get called in last night and slept very well, finished my book club book and started another, there will be plenty of sunshine for me to finish raking my back yard today, got a new charm added to my charm bracelet as a valentine's sussie to myself, and am looking forward to lunch out at a middle eastern bakery/deli for lunch. (:

  10. It’s a lovely, sunny, low 50’s day. We call it “False Spring,” but I am thankful for the chance to get outside and clear a flower bed!

    1. We had mid 30's and you can get bet we were on walks and out playing ball
No doubt we e got a couple more snow storms. March is always good for one during the state hockey or basketball tournaments, but it melts fast. It'll be ages before we have anything close to gardening weather. Maybe Mothers Day weekend. (US not UK)

  11. I enjoyed reading your positive Tuesday post this evening (although it's Wednesday now for me).
Lovely that you get to spend time with your sister's cats and Callie cat is very pretty. I love seeing my son's cats when we visit him. Good news on both the dental treatment and the results of your mammogram. Hope you enjoyed a happy hour with your friends yesterday. Wishing you more positivity for the rest of the week.

    1. Happy hour was scheduled but not for a few weeks- hard to coordinate schedules as we live in four different parts of our metro area. I'll keep up the Tuesday posts I think.

  12. I had my mammogram a couple of weeks ago and was told it would be a 6 week wait for results this time. I think that's the longest I've ever been quoted.
I'm glad you're getting a break from the dental treatment!

    1. I might be wrong, but I think mammograms might be scheduled not just based on the technicians schedule but also the radiologist's schedule to review and read so we get results usually within 2-3 business days. My break will be until May then she'll be back and the carnage. I hope you're able to get your surgery soon.
