On Tuesdays I try and gather a list of things that have made me smile or brought a bit of cheer. Spring is in the air, but it's a bit false as anyone in Minnesota knows, we do not get through the highschool winter state tournament season with out one or two major snow falls. Still, I'll start with weather in my list.

  • I like that grocery stores carry simple bouquets.  Not my shop above but I enjoy seeing them and occasionally buying a bunch.
  • Weekend temperatures were crazy hitting the 50's° F. I watched the men's hockey game Saturday and took walks during both period breaks as it seemed silly to be inside for three hours straight. Lots of people were out and there was a cheery mood.
  • My sister's cat, plus the wanderer instantly greeted me by weeks end. Even the aloof one rubbed up against me and let me give him a little pet.
  • My sister had a great time, so glad, as she's going to have a rough time after her foot procedures. She was very appreciative of me caring for her cats and knew they were in good hands.
  • I gathered the broken bits and reassembled my Spruce Tip pot as the greenery was still green. I had an extra pot from the summer when I repotted indoor plants and now have a porch decor again.
  • I was in a homey cooking mood and indulged in making sausage and  biscuits  for brunch and oatmeal peanut butter chocolate chip cookie dough. I made balls of dough to freeze, then bake just a few at a time so now I got sweet treats ready for a future craving.
  • My youngest had a dentist appointment in town and came with one cat, her playful one and Little Miss was very happy to have a playmate. Other daughter came early with her dog so I had all kids for supper, first since Christmas that they were all in my house together. ( Minus her other cat)

Nothing particularly exciting, but good simple moments here and there. I hope you are able to find positives the rest of the week.

  1. Traders Joes has very affordable flower arrangements like this. I like to get one every now and then too.

    1. They do and I will splurge there occasionally. TJ is a destination shop so just stop when I'm in the area

  2. The simple good moments here and there make all the difference...I used to love to make cookie dough to freeze. I haven't done that in years!

    1. No one in my family ( other than me and I don't need them around) likes to eat fresh cookies unless right from oven still warm. This works out nice. I bet though it's been six months since I last made dough.

  3. Lovely good moments. It's always good to look for things that make you smile! I'm enjoying the warmer weather, but know it's only winter teasing and we'll be back to cold again soon lol

    1. Rainy today and up north, they're predicting blizzard like conditions. It'll be tough keeping the big guy amused today.

  4. Simple joys are lovely! I spent all weekend with my sister and her family in Syracuse - dare I say the city stole my heart a little. But I am just more happy that my sister and brother in law, have a strong sense of community there and my nieces even with their individual needs as kids, do have some community and family too.

    1. It's terrific seeing family that you love, especially when you don't get to often. I guess I take it for granted sometimes but love when my brother comes north for a few months each year. I don't know much about Syracuse but suspect very wholesome and beautiful with the college campuses. We all need community don't we?

  5. I like your Positively Tuesday approach. I am trying to get back into regular blogging after weeks of larger family issues, and this approach is encouraging.
