Sunday Thoughts October 5, 2025

      I've been groggy today after a fun late afternoon to late evening with my siblings. We cleaned a very tidy park, then had a delicious dinner spread compliments of my sister with a few sides and desserts from the rest of us. We finally got to a very deep book club discussion of Suzanne Redfearns In an Instant. We played cards after and lost track of time. After helping my sister cleanup, I finally got home after midnight. 

     I still was up just a bit later than normal and watched the Vikings in London come from behind victory. I finally did a bit more than just tidy and cleaned bathrooms, dusted, vacuumed, and a huge load of towels. I've a busy week ahead so needed to take advantage of a quiet house. Dinner was good company and just OK food. I avoided anything to drink other than water as between last night's and tonight's rich and salty food, I just needed to balance. 

     We got a nice slow well needed rain late morning. It still warmed up to mud 70's but fall weather resumes tomorrow. I have to serve as a proxy for someone on vacation tomorrow and be in the office. I should be home by 12 to finish my day, then Mom's book club tomorrow night. I hope to make some quick bread to bring along as soon as I get home. I need to finish that book when I hit publish.

actually need to be in person. 

      Thanks for all the comments and encouragement about travel in yesterday's post. I enjoyed interacting with you all and suggestions or affirmation on going to a few places. I also realize as I finish this post, that since retiring from full time work, I don't get those Sunday night dreaded thoughts of the week ahead, even though I m actually working. That's about it for my thoughts to wrap up the weekend and start the week.

    I love those Sunday nights without the dread of having to go to work on Monday. Sounds like a good time with your siblings, that’s great!

      Picture at  Pexel.com      Or is tomorrow officially fall? I never remember if the seasons change on the 20th or 21st, but my weather alert text said today's the last day of summer.  " Last day of summer! Increased sunshine with warmer highs in the mid-70s, isolated severe storms possible. Pleasant weather this week."      It's a perfect morning sitting outside while the dogs play and I have my coffee. I've had a good weekend so far and am ok with getting some rain. Though, my daughter is working a festival and rain could keep crowds away. She's helping her friend in the food truck, but was hopeful she'd see some good return on her time in tips. Monday Morning Thoughts for a Busy Week

      This just working part time is more than enough when my week feels busy. I don't recall the last time I had so much in a short period of time. I also have cat duty for my sister morning and evenings until Thursday. She and another sister joined Memphis commuter sister on her work trip.  Monday: Besides a few meetings and adding more to the project documents I have two personal tasks. One is picking up my daughter's bike from the repair guy. Her car is too little, and I might keep as she looks for a more road worthy version. I'm not opposed to a couple useable bikes here. I also have an appointment to get a copy of my marriage license. I have one, but not sure if I'll need to send anything for social security so wanted a second. If timing works, I am going to try to get to at least the second half of my great nieces first highschool soccer game. It's Worse Than I Imagined

      The shit show since January 20th has been a big reason for my reclusiveness the last few weeks. Let the comments fly. Create a crisis. Lie that you resolved it. Get your sycophants to suck it all up. Rinse. Repeat...for four F' ing years.  Oh, and let's shout, "but her emails" while a foreign oligarch is raiding our private personal data with his hoard of teenagers. Let's pardon January 6th criminals, several of which immediately committed additional crimes.  I said it was going to be my only political post election post but man, it's even worse than I could have imagined.
