Monday Morning Thoughts for a Busy Week
This just working part time is more than enough when my week feels busy. I don't recall the last time I had so much in a short period of time. I also have cat duty for my sister morning and evenings until Thursday. She and another sister joined Memphis commuter sister on her work trip.
Monday: Besides a few meetings and adding more to the project documents I have two personal tasks. One is picking up my daughter's bike from the repair guy. Her car is too little, and I might keep as she looks for a more road worthy version. I'm not opposed to a couple useable bikes here. I also have an appointment to get a copy of my marriage license. I have one, but not sure if I'll need to send anything for social security so wanted a second. If timing works, I am going to try to get to at least the second half of my great nieces first highschool soccer game. The Minnesota Vikings season starts tonight.
Tuesday: I have the AAUW Knowledge and Nibbles event. I joined out of order so never got the full information spiel. My sister is joining me.
Wednesday: It's what would have been my in laws 65th wedding anniversary. I'm going to drop off flowers for her.
Thursday: Dare I say, nothing formally on the calendar but work hours.
Friday: My daughter has something Friday late afternoon into the evening so I'm just going there for her dog. She'll come back on Sunday morning and easier to leave at mine.
Saturday: There's an old neighborhood reunion at the big county park near where I grew up. My sister and a childhood friend I'm still good friends with are going. Later I need to get the cakes for Sunday's party for MIL's 85th. Yes, they got married very young at 20, my husband born 11 months later.
Sunday: The set up and loooong party. I'm looking forward to Sunday night and a nice bottle of ros`e.
I've yet to get a single jar of jam made, but it won't be this week. How's your week ahead?
We have no solid commitments this week which is always my favorite kind of week. Right now we're focusing on getting everything done inside and out so we can hunker down and hibernate most of the winter. I still have jalapeno jelly to make also. I'm saving that for a colder or rainy day. Have a great week!!
ReplyDeleteAhh, sleeping until Spring. The bears have it right.
DeleteSo. Much. Paperwork.
ReplyDelete-Meg B.
Too much. The next appointment is on 9/25, two months before turning 60. How are you doing? I know, silly to ask but I just want to check in.
DeleteYour week sounds pleasantly full, not overloaded. I will work three days, off 4 - the usual - and I have a jazz concert, audiology appt., and daughter's birthday. Keeping the chore list low so I recover from last week!
ReplyDeleteHave a good week and keep you head above water!
ReplyDeleteI'm a good swimmer.
DeleteA couple of appointments on Tuesday & Wednesday so far and then I will be able to stay home, which I do enjoy even though I also enjoy getting out of the house from time to time. Sounds like you have a busy week ahead of you. That is so sweet of you to drop flowers off for you MIL's 65th wedding anniversary.
ReplyDeleteI think it might be a hard day for her...it would be for me as we had thrown a big party 15 years ago for them both.
DeleteWow, your week sounds completely full. Mine’s mostly work all week, and I might sneak in a little trip too, so I totally get the juggling act. Cat duty, soccer games, flowers, parties… you’re basically running a mini-event planning company. Sunday and that rosé is the perfect reward. How’s everyone else surviving their busy schedules? www.melodyjacob.com
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm more tag along than the planner but things must be done. Enjoy your trip.
DeleteThis household has been running on overload in recent weeks and I do not enjoy it. I make a SMALL daily to-do list just to keep myself on track and some days I just sigh. So hang in there!!!
ReplyDeleteI got through Monday so one day checked. I hope your week slows down.
DeleteYears ago, one of my staff RNs semi retired. After a few months she said "this is more stressful than working full time, I fully retire". :-)
ReplyDeleteInteresting on the flowers. Mom told be 40y ago (we've been married 45), that the anniversary celebration is the bride and groom. No one else should be doing anything except maybe a congratulatory card. Mom was born in 1923-FYI.
The flowers are to hopefully give her cheer as it would have been their 65th, but he passed away before their 55th. We had thrown a large combination 50th anniversary/ 75th birthday party for them both 15 years ago and no doubt she'll be remembering that this week before her solo party. Flowers this year are not really about celebrating but just trying to be kind.
DeleteI feel like I have so much to do but can't settle to any of it as I await mum's results. Maybe making a list would help...things I'd like to get done, rather than thinking they must be done. Anything ticked off would be a bonus!
ReplyDeleteMy lists have sort of become aspirations not mandates. Sure, some things are required but no need to pressure myself. You have a full plate right now.
DeleteThat does sound like a busy week! I get a bit skittish if I've got too much planned! x
ReplyDeleteIt's unusual now to have so many commitments to be sure. I got used to doing what I want and when. I'll appreciate my days being my own again after the contract ends and ( travel aside) my days are my own.
DeleteSounds like a busy week!
ReplyDeleteIt has been. Next week looks quieter and I'll be glad.
Delete14 qrts and 8 pints of veggie soup. Had taco soup the next day LOL. Still need to can onion chutney.
ReplyDeleteOnion chutney sounds delicious. I watched a YouTube that showed a cafe with a cheese and chutney tea sandwich. Onion chutney would work on that.
