Wednesday Wellness Check July 16, 2026

Its Wednesday so time to check in. I'm going to use midweek again to check in and keep the same goals as I've had previously.

Lose five pounds. To be clear, this is 5 pounds for the month, not the week.  Weight since July 1, down 1.6 pounds total. Not a great week of weight loss but something.

Walk 10 miles per week. Barely on target. I made a mistake of taking a walk Sunday too late as in my head, it was cooler still, but at the 1.5 mark, I was sweating and feared I'd struggle making it home if I didn't start back. I took a second walk later, after 8:00, after berry picking. I guess my motivation to manage the Athens topography and hills over motivated me.

Strength and weight resistance exercise two hours per week. This has been closer to 1 hour, 2 /10 minutes session 3 days a week.

Ensure I have at least six fruit and veg servings per day with at least three being vegetables. Other than grad party, I ate very well and even there ate fruit. It was the delicious strawberry cake and my SIL's caramelita bars that were the temptation.

Resume 16-8 intermittent fasting, meals/ snacks only between 12-8, but aiming for nothing past 7:00. Really well this past week. I'm drinking more water after 7:00, but slowly getting myself retrained to not have to get up every two hours. Last night I felt snacky and I think that contributed to not losing a full pound as measured by the scale in extra calories and salt/ water weight.

Calorie deficit tracking. I curbed this a bit too and along with the walking, showed with some success on the scale.

This helps me both be honest with myself but moreso, gives me a strategy. It's four weeks now to my knee recheck. I'm lower than my April 2024 weight by several pounds and overall now  in better overall health than a year ago. I've four weeks until my one year knee check, and have a target in mind that will feel like success.

Comments

  1. Your dr should be happy with your weight loss as every pound is that much less stress on your knees. I’ve had red bell peppers and peaches today so far. We are having grilled chicken salads for dinner, and will get more fruit and veggies in then.

  2. You had a good week and should be proud of yourself.
