The Week Ahead Sunday, April 20, 2025

Happy Easter to all who celebrate. I'm doing a quick post as I'm aiming for 8:00 church then coming home to get my egg bake, hash brown patties, and fruit ready to bring to my sister's for 11:00 brunch. The cats are using me as a launch pad while I type. Later all four of us will have a sort of non-traditional dinner of picky bits and cocktails. They'll bring a plant to their grandma too for Easter, after dinner time and she's home.

I'll share more, but we'll also have a family meeting to plan additional care support for my brother. That will dictate much of my week. I didn't accept any sub jobs until next week, and then just one.

Minimally staying up on housework is my goal. Things have slipped in my embracing of no schedule, no "have to's". To keep my week intentional light, he's a short list of what could be happening.

  • Get raised garden beds assembled.
  • Rake and clear pumpkin area
  • Get small trees down, set aside to dry out for fire wood.
  • Trivia Wednesday night.
  • Walking meet up with the moms.
  • Lunch or coffee with my MIL.
All these will need to be flexible and can better plan tonight or tomorrow. While we may get rain, which is needed, I'm hope your day fills you with sun.

  1. Good morning and happy Easter! Very chill day here, DD is only coming home for the day, DS and girlfriend will be over when her family commitments are done. No timeline, no schedule. Plenty of food, sports on tv, playing with our resident Easter bunny-Miss Peanut, definitely taking a walk today. Incredibly peaceful! JoAnn

    1. Very chill day. Brunch was delicious, and packed up provisions for my brother's house. He has no restrictions...if he feels like eating it, he can, though likely only very small amounts. We got rain and I'm seeing the green.

  7. Happy Easter to you. All the best with your brother.
No plans here besides a ham, Mormon potatoes, cucumber salad, pound cake and deviled eggs for appetizers. And mimosas. There will be mimosas.

  11. Happy Easter Sam and I'm so glad your brother is home! My brother got sick in December 2018 and I was so glad I retired in January as I was able to fly to Wales to be with him at that time! Between you and your family I'm sure your brother and SIL will have tons of support!

    1. He sure hates being in the hospital or care facility. We do not know how long, but this is better for him.

  12. I hope your Easter Sunday was a good one! We had family over, nice but stressful. I am glad your brother is home and you have time to support in whatever ways you can. Meanwhile, I thought you and the cats were having the non-traditional dinner of picky bits and cocktails LOL!
