New Day New Month

I am so glad my post on Monday gave an opening to so many to share their own loss of a sibling grief. I don't own grief, though I find shared, it seems to cut the pain a tiny bit. I'm not replying to comments but let each one hold it's own profound place. My sadness stretched the rest of Monday and straight to last night. I typed a very melancholy, trying to self analyze, self reflect, post yesterday, but am choosing to just let it sit in a draft. It was enough to write it out, but today's a new day and I feel a bit better.

I've  more work to do on the front porch and yard and entry view but I moved the old bathroom shelf to the porch to hold plants. These two flats of four need repotting when I have a moment but for now I just set them in the tin planter. I bought myself a patio tomato plant, for greenery, and if I get tomatoes too, all the better. Also, I'm so pleased the two spindly apple trees my daughter planted have lots of green leaves and even blossoms.

I'm good at publicly faking my heart and mind. So with that;  it's May 1; it's spring and it's a new day and new month to try and grab a bit of joy.

  1. Spring is a time for everything coming to life in the garden, and new beginnings for me - well, that's how I look at it anyway. I'm glad to read you're feeling a bit better - writing things out, even if we don't publish or send it, can be very cathartic.

    1. I'm not a huge spring person- gardening hasn't been my thing, but once things bloom, I enjoy.

  2. Here's to May. Love your blue chair on the porch (I love blue). And I am with Sooze's comment above: writing things out, even if we don't publish or send, can do wonders for our heart and spirit.

    1. The chair's done it's purpose. I sometimes just need an outlet and no one to really talk to.

  3. That looks like a lovely corner to just sit and enjoy the sunshine and a little peace and quiet out in nature.

  5. i have thought about getting on of those tomatoes for the porch, but feel like critters would eat it. There are lots running around. Put a plate under it so you won't get water damage or mud on the porch.
When the inner is hurting, it helps me focus on the outer. Pretty or anything helps for a focus.

  6. That porch corner looks inviting for a glass of lemonade & chatting. Those tomatoes will be scrumptious. I like to eat mine sliced & salted still warm or air temperature right off the vine. You'll probably end up having more tomatoes there than you'll know what to do with, enjoy & remember to water, those pots dry out quicker than we think sometimes. Sharing your simple joys of everyday life gives motivation & inspiration to us others along the way. It helps us/me forgot for moments in time the aches in our own hearts & minds as well. I don't consider that faking, because you are being truthful that you are & can find simple joys that we all cherish & need to get us through each day, day by day. Keep sharing your bits of joy. I think the blooms on fruit tress & bushes are beautiful. We have a blackberry bush that has the most beautiful little pink blooms. I sure hope the berries are as sweet tasting as the blooms appear. Hopefully you'll get an apple or 2 off that tree to make a pie or sauce or something.

    1. We'll see if I get any tomatoes. I'm a horrible gardener. I doubt any apples for a few years, but they might prove me wrong.
