Last Days...London Now

Image
We arrived in London yesterday midday and now I've got five full days before heading home. I am not a great travel blogger, just trying to appreciate the moments. I've enjoyed the National Trust properties but even more so, the time meeting family and friends of my friend met through the blogging community. The UK has made me feel at home. Here's just a random bit of pictures and not in day order and as I did some transferring to free up memory, entire days are not on my phone. I'll try to recap in the future and organize a bit and map the month as it's been an incredibly full itinerary, but with down time to talk and laugh. I'll sleep for days once home so unless I do a post from the airport, I'll be quiet until December starts.  Stourhead house was closed but here's an assortment of the spectacular grounds and cottages and entry points.  Kingston Lacy Kingston Lacy Remains of Corfe Castle  View from Corfe Castle of the village Tyntesfield  Bath...

These blog snippets are as much for my memory as to share with you. Nothing will be deep- just memory joggers for me. We had a wonderful time in St Ives and went back to Bristol by way of the National Trust property, Trerice .  A different view. Amazing place, St Ives.  A beautiful church from the view of the walkway. Just more stunning sea views. The obligatory lighthouse pose. The villain who stole my sausage roll. I can't say I wasn't warned.  Friday Sunrise. Chapel that looks out both sides of the peninsula.  Our balcony view. Saturday morning canoeing in St Ives harbor. My husband would have joined them!. My first cream tea at Trerice. The back of the house. The side garden. The front- picture from brochure as I couldn't get a good angle.  Picture from the "kayling" lawn, an old game. America 1, UK 0 lol.       My friend's daughter who was cat sitting made a beautiful mushroom and herb cheese dish for us and I slept ...

Pardon my silence as I throw myself fully into my trip. I arrived uneventfully Sunday morning, a good thing in travel, but my poor friend battles road gridlock picking me up. Highlights so far were  Windsor wander an outdoor swim in a lido ( followed by steam room, sauna, and hot tub) a glorious lunch in a pub in the Cotswolds and a farm store shop  meeting lovely friends of friend and daughter of friend Bristol United soccer, pardon me, football match, complete with colorful chants to the officials and today both pretending to be a neighbor of Doc  Martin, and drinks over looking the sea in St Ives . Cornwall is amazing.  More to come but a snippet to share. Photos might not mot be in correct order of days and times. I'll do a big sort and personal photo album once home. Crooked House in Windsor, now importantly a wine bar. One view of Windsor Castle  Best lunch I've had in a long time- Saffron Clifton neighborhood in Bristol following...
